Trim at bottom of exterior windows 700 1985

I've got a 1985 745T where the rubber on the trim pieces that fit under the windows has disintegrated. Hoping that I could just replace the rubber, I tried to remove the aluminum piece and find some rubber to replace it with. In the process I totally mangled the aluminum trim and tossed the piece (its the one on the rear driver's side cargo window. Now I've discovered that Volvo NA charges nearly $175 each for these pieces and that the rubber is not separately available.

Can someone pass on the correct method of removing these flimsy, expensive trim pieces without bending them into pretzels? Also, anyone have a good source for inexpensive replacements? How about a source for the replacement rubber (most of the other ones could stand replacement rubber as well)?

TIA!
