License Plate Light Help... 200

Yes, Yes, Y'all...
This will probably be the simplest thread I'll ever post -especially when I pride myself on mechanical aptitude... but I dont have running lights for my license plate. I cleaned the fuse holders w/ a wire brush, protected the clips w/ contact grease, correctly replaced all fuses w/ new one's from the IPD kit, and find I am still without lights. In fact, I am unsure of how to access the bulbs through their respective plastic covers. Pry them off with a flat screwdriver? Take apart the plastic pieces in the trunk and enter through there? What are some typical issues that might leave me without illumination in that area? How about the size/wattage of the replacement bulbs? Any information would be greatly appreciated...as always...THANKS...in advance!
