Help - Stiff Steering 1990 740 GLE 700 1990

Hi All

My 740 (70K Miles) has failed it's MOT and I was told by the Volvo agent that the steering rack needed replacing. Volvo wanted about £900 to do the job so I purchased a Volvo rack from my local branch of German & Swedish for about £150. After replacing the rack and bleeding the system, the car was fine for about a week. Now the problem has returned and, if anything, is probably worse and the car is booked in for a re-MOT next week.

Any ideas would be most welcomed.
