Infamous OD solenoid

I've been using a used unit for the last year and half with no probs. I did however install more chafe guards (3 inch pieces of hose all along the wire). The white wire that comes down from the shifter was grounding out on the car also. Worn insulation. Whatever you get be sure to buy the two o-rings for the solenoid. Clean the area with parts cleaner before removal. Coat o rings with plumbers or silcone grease for sealing and ease of install. It's not that bad just getting your fingers in the correct position to replace the two bolts. Mine was leaking trans fluid and was oil soaked from the rear main seal leak. That rubber cap becomes brittle and good bye.
