Hi all,
My latest H20 leak seems to be coming from the wiring harness that passes through the passenger door into the cabin of the car. I fixed one big leak and realized that a small trickle of water was still getting in. I sat in the car so that I could hear/see the "PLUNK" of water as the drops hit the plastic container I set on the floor.
The water drops onto the floor from the wiring harness located behind the glove box. There are 2 sets of wires, one with a blue plastic connectors, and one with a white connector. The white connector has an orange sleeve over it. The water actually drops off that sleeve onto the floor.
Following the path of the wiring harnesses, I realized that it is the harness that passes through the door via the black accordian-like thing that you can see when you have the passenger door open.
Since it's raining now and I can't isolate the entry point, I'm gonna wait for a dry day and see exactly where the water is originating from.
I can't believe this one - it doesn't sound like any leak that's been described here before.
I felt all around above it to see if the water was dropping onto the orange sleeve from say, the windshield, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
It's a really awkward area, I just hope that it's not a total pain to fix. Since it's so wet now, I can't tell if the water gets into the cabin from the door side or the cabin-side of the black flexy accordian thing that houses the wires.
If you have/had a similar leak, I'm curious to hear how you cured it.
Thanks for reading,
Susan.
