NO idle when frozen...Help 200 1993

OK, I've gone from rough idle when cold (read: ice cold frozen) to NO idle when cold.

Car runs fine once warm.

When just starting after 24+ hours of sitting frozen the car will not keep running unless I gave it some gas. If I let out the pedal it idles to off. No chugs, or knocks, just smoothly to off as the pedal raises. Once the car did warm up, about ten minutes later, the car held idle but it was a very slow idle (judged by sound of valves slappin). Once warm, after driving, the idle was back to "normal" speed.

Is this clearly a gunked throttle body, idle control motor? I.e. the gunk gets frozen and prevents proper operation? Or is it indicative of something else.

I think its time to have the whole idle-works overhauled/cleaned. Not me though, hands freeze to parts in 20 secs in this weather.

What specific things should I request the mechanic to do?

P.S. - Lost vaccume as it idled to off, heard the heater suction valves "let go". I think thats just 'cause the engine was dying right?
