Odd Heat Problem may be vacuum door, but where? 200

The brick is a 87 245 / 5spd, a/c , & cruise.
It's problem is at first there was little heat at all,
the owner changed t/stats x2. the heat control cable was out of adjustment
& only opened 1/2 way. blows warm out of the left side dash, heat, and def ducts. cold out of the right side ducts, some air can be felt comng out of the a/c evap core area in the front of the heat box assembly. if there is a diverter door, where is it's vacuum motor hiding. did some one in dash prior goof up hse routing? not looking foraward to having to pull ever thing apart if it isn't nessacary. any one out there ever run into this?
thanks,
Bentwrench
