I am leasing a 2001 Jetta for 500.00 a month. My lease will be expiring next week and I am thinking of ridding myself of a car payment and will be driving a 1986 Volvo Station Wagon back and forth to work. I spoke to my Volvo mechanic and he said that my Volvo wagon will out live my 2001 Jetta and said that Volvos are VERY reliable. I plan on putting it in the shop for a new wiring harness and other little things. Do you think this car can be reliable transportation? Would love to hear your thoughts. Its sort of scary for me because I am a woman and is always fearing being stuck on the freeway with car problems.
