Only on cold days.....

I finally fixed the fuel pump in my 87 740TI wagon. And boy its good to have her back.
I do have another question though. Lately we have been having some pretty cold temps around here. And every morning that its real cold, I lose all my gauges(except for turbo, of course cause this is mechanical and not electrical)no tach, speedo, no fuel, temp. Now the key may be that its only with my driving lights on. When I turn them on I also have both signals stay on, only on the dash though not outside. After I drive the car for a few miles, or when it warms up enough everything pops right back on in perfect workin order.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Open to any suggestions
Thanks,
Rich
