New style heater valve questions 200

Hi BBers,
I have installed a new style heater valve in my 242ti. It seemed to install fine and the cable moves the valve completely from on to off. However, the valve doesn't shut off the heat. It does adjust pretty low but never off. Did
I do something wrong, like the valve only goes in one way? So maybe I put it in backward? That's the only thing I can think off. Anyone have any experience with this new style valve? I installed it because supposedly it has better adjustment for the low heat range. Thank you.

Best regards,
Dave 82 242ti 279k mi.
