On the long stick m41... 140-160

Your long-stick M40 cover will bolt onto your M41 no problem. However, it won't have the lockout switch that limits OD engagement to 4th gear only. Also, there are at least three versions of actuating your back-up lights, so that might need to be converted.

You can try to find a long-stick M41 cover, which will have the lockout switch.

You can use the "extended" cover (short stick) and weld in a transmission tunner from a car that has the hole for the stick in the right place. Note that the cover from a '75 M41 as used in the 240 is shorter -- the short stick comes up further forward than the earlier two styles of extended cover. You probably won't find a transmission tunnel that suits that one.

All versions of the M41 require a switch of some sort to operate the OD.
