blowing smoke,fail jiggle test 700 1989

i have an 89 740 turbo wagon with 175k. i am a former auto tech so i have been able to do a lot to this brick with help from the brickboard.
just recently the car is blowing smoke when stopped at light and engine is warm. aftr you get going it stops. i have replaced the hoses going to the oil breather box and cleaned all the gunk in the 'y' shaped plastic fitting.i tried the jiggle test and it failed. i blew through the hose into the oil breather box with the engine off and the cap jiggled. now i don't know if the breather is clogged or not. also when the car is driven and parked i open the hood and look around the oil filler cap and oil has been leaking out onto the valve cover. the cap is only 4 mos. old. any help would be appreciated.
