have wierd problem with blower motor???? anyone else had this before 700 1985

My blower motor is acting up. When driving it clicks on an off and seems to be effected when shifting gears. I mean if I have the blower on to come out of anything other than defrost, it will either come on or off between shifts. While driving , it goes on or off too. If it is in the off position it just clicks on an off real fast. The weird thing is that the blower motor runs fine in the defrost setting??@@!!! Any idea how to fix this problem,I believe the mechanic messed something up, and I cant take it back to him because we had a disagreement about if he screwed it up or not.
