exhaust system two mufflers on 240 200 1986

Hello,

Someone posted a similar message a few months ago and I will again recite the be-all and end-all of exhaust systems for a 240.

Get yourself a 240 Turbo rear muffler and the larger s-shaped tailipe extension. Then go to an independent muffler shop that can bend pipes for you. Get them to install the muffler and tailpipe, and make a pipe that goes from the back of the catalytic converter all along the underbody, using the supports where the resonator was, under the rear axle and around into the inlet of the Turbo muffler. The larger diameter of the Turbo system will allow for better flow in the system. The free-flowing design of the Turbo muffler will allow for a modest incease in power right off idle to about 5000 rpm(B230F's kinda mush out after that). There is no difference in volume or pitch from the tailpipe until you hit about 3000, so don't worry, you won't sound like one of those loosers in their Honda's with the tin cans for mufflers. And most importantly, there is no reduction in reliability or performance of the motor or other associated emissions control systems.

So the answer is yes... do it!!!! And no worries.

Happy Bricking!!!
