The 122 won't start after a trip to the body shop 120-130

Hello,

I had a 1800 tunnel welded into the 122E to fit the 1800 shift linkage. Last night I went t pick it up and it would barely start and certainly not run. Seems to only be firing on the #3 cylinder. I didn't have any tools, light, or patience last night so I left it. I was headed back today armed with plenty of stuff.

But anyway, question is, the entire floor is bare metal and the D-jet brain was laying on it. If it were laying between the welding electrode and ground clamp, could that damage it? It ran fine, no great, on the way down there Sunday. The battery has plenty of juice. The #1 cylinder was dead, making me think it is not the trigger contacts.

If it's the brain I'll be right pissed, as it is an adjustable ipd unit. If that is the problem, are these servicable at all? Anyone have another they'd trade or sell? But let's worry about that later. The body guy this morning said it ran that way yesterday afternoon but he let it idle and it sounds like it came back on at least another cylinder, but not all 4.

Thoughts?

Oh yes, one other thing. The car has an air fuel meter in it. The body guy said it was on full lean while it was running. Not exactly accurate when 2 or 3 cylinders short, but made me think injectors were off line. I tried all the connectors too, and everything was tight.
