UPDATE 120-130

I just got back from the shop. From what I can tell the spark is very weak. Very, very weak. I asked the guy what they did to take precautions with the welder current. The positive cable is removed from the battery. My thoughts are now the coil or the electric ignition unit, a Crane unit. Can welding current adversely affect either of these items?

For what it's worth, changing brains didn't make any difference.
