AW70 fluid leak from OD solenoid 200 1983

I've got a severe transmission fluid leak (8 inch wet puddle every morning). Of course I top it up but adding 2 quarts a week is a sign that there might be little problem - not to mention the slick driveway!

Anyway, I put the Silver Bullet up on the ramps and found the leak originating from the OD solenoid valve. This unit is about 9 months old. Thinking the O-rings must be shot I took it apart to check them - the O-rings were well seated and are in good condition. Since I can't get new O-rings today anyway I put it all back together hoping to get lucky.

After starting it back up, I noticed the leak is actually coming from under the rubber cap at the top of the solenoid valve. I pulled the cap up to verify this.

The Bentley manual doesn't show any other seals in the valve assembly. Is it new valve assembly time again?

Thanks,
Curt
