940 turbocharger problem

Haven't noticed any decrease in boost or function of the turbocharger on my 94 940t, but upon visual inspection the other day, I noticed that the large hose that connects to the intake manifold was "wet" and oily looking, upon grabbing the hose, my hand was covered with motor oil. Is this a sign that the turbocharger needs to be replaced? Am taking car to independent shop in a.m.
just wanting to know what to expect. thanks for any input HT
