Leaking head gasket 200 1980

Finally hunted down the source of the small coolant puddle appearing under my daughter’s 1980 242. Coolant is leaking out under the first cylinder’s exhaust manifold at the head gasket. Not leaking a lot, but a leak none the less, the reservoir has not lost enough to say I have lost anything. I find no evidence of any water in the oil, although I have not changed the oil yet.
Does anybody have any insight to this sort of problem? Can I continue to drive until it is warm enough to spend hours in the driveway tearing into the engine? Should I try some stop leak? Or should I not chance driving further?
I have never changed a head gasket before, how difficult is that? Why would this happen? I bought this Brick in August, and It has just been making short trips school and back home since September (less than 5 miles per day) with no over heating incidents.

Thanks in advance,
