Need help with these power windows.. 200

So here's my quandary. It's the 84 wagon.

The power window switches are all gummed up. No big deal, clean everything out. Will do that tomorrow when it's warm and dry out.

In the meantime, the driver's side windows didn't work at all. So I put a switch from the 85 in the rear door. Fiddled a bit and the window went up. 1 down, 1 to go.. er.. yeah :)

Popped the driver's armrest off and put that same switch from the 85 into the driver's window switch. No go. The motor's not even clicking on. In the pitch black night, the wiring looks okay (albeit damp).

SOOO. What should I look for now? I've got to pull the door panel off anyways to fix the outside handle (actuating rod is broken).

If the motor's dead, how hard is it to get the window up? heck.. how do I get the window up with an inoperable motor?
