Testing AMM on 83 240 200 1983

How is it done? After disconnecting AMM and trying to start engine, If AMM is good will engine run or not? Havent actually tried yet but would like to tomorrow. Also, does the 83 model 23F engine with LH2.0 have the "ballast resistor" and if so where might it be located in the car?

By the way car will surge, die momentarily. but not all the time. Yesterday it ran "ok" but today it cut out many times. I could problably go outside now and it will run good.

Car has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. Also rebuilt the engine wire harness. Replaced rubber hose on in tank fuel pump and checked operation.(not pressure, that will be next).

When I changed fuel filter the external fuel pump noise became more noticable.

Out of pure frustration can I convert this thing to a carburated system? I know how carb's work ;)

Thanks in advance

Joe Scott
