M41 Noise/Oil Update 140-160

The other day I mentioned my noise situation with my M41. I couldn't find any Redline oil in town so I drained all the ATF out of the transmission itself, not takeing off OD cover. Installed 80-90W. It helped a bunch. Also there was nothing on the magnetic plug after about 1000 miles of ATF. Is a mixture of ATF and 80-90W a problem?

Another issue is that the car has some junkie repacement carpet with not much pad perhaps reducing the sound insulation. Could that be a factor?
