'Exchange' label on B23 timing belt cover 200

Can anyone tell me, please, the meaning of an "Exchange" label, pasted on the timing belt cover of an early 1980s 240? (B23 engine, I suppose)

Sorry... I was in a hurry at the Pick-n-Pull, since my teenage daughter was waiting in the car... (amazing cooperation!) so I can't give much more than an impression, like the word "exchange" appeared in several languages, a figure like 180,000 was penciled in on the label or sticker, and the car's odometer had 200,000 miles on it. The engine was not fresh looking.

An odometer exchange? An engine exchange? Or...

Thanks very much for your help!
