Odd driveability problem with 740T 700

I am having an odd problem with my 88 740tic. I just recently replaced the fuel pressure reg. after the car was running very rich under boost, which made it run much better. I still have some odd running problems when at part throttle around 3000-4000 rpm... the engine gets very rough and the car bucks slightly. If I give it full throttle it smooths out pretty well, and at lower and higher rpm the problem doesn't manifest. This is most notable when I am on cruise control and I go to climb a hill. It seems to only happen as the car goes into partial boost, between 0 and 5 psi. This is a pretty odd problem... has anyone ever experienced this? The car runs pretty well otherwise, any suggestions? Thanks!
