Wheel Bearing Problems on my 86 Volvo 200

Hi Tippi, I was curious.. do you have a car care manual? Maybe get the "Haynes Volvo Manual for 200 series". It is actually a good manual, and it will be @ mostly any disc. auto stores. The manual will give you an idea at least what's wrong with your car. (This site is actaully better). I'm really not sure about the wheel bearings, but you pointed out the prob. w/ the odometer, which might be the odom. gears, or if not maybe the cable (which I've heard is another common prob.). Try checking under the dash cluster underneath the stearing wheel, there is a black carpeted panel. Take it off. reach up into the cluster w/ care, and there will be the cable. If it's not attached, that will prob. be your problem. Even if it won't screw back on and is broken, you can still stick it back on to the odometer cluster (for temporary function). This happened to me, so I hope that is the case. I know, sorry, for not helping you w/ the wheel bearing prob., hope this gives you an idea on the odom. repair....StreetAngel
