Dear Bayer - Bare? Bexar? (Isn't our language wonderful?)

Lemme know what you find. On seemingly random occasionly my 1986 244GL, upon shifting to reverse, just sits there and does nothing. After 30 seconds at idle in kicks in. If I rev up to 2000 or so, it kicks in quicker but with a bang.

240K estimated miles (Last know OD is 184K in Apr 1998) on original tranny.
