fuel pump jump redux 200

Sunday I posted a message about a 5/7 jump in the fuse box asking why the pumps did not run....found out why: pre 79 240's will not do that . Those like my 78gt with the 12 fuse box have to be treated differently. To make the pumps run in those models, jump the 30 and 87 terminals in the relay connector and your pumps will buzz. Unless, as in my case only the main pump ran. Pulled the prepump out of the tank, cleaned all the connections and then found that the impeller in the pump was stuck (remember this brick has been sitting since August)..manually turned the impeller with a teeny screwdriver to free it up, wired it directly to the battery to get a good spin on it ( it started slowly and then cut loose and spun like it's supposed to) hooked it back up, dropped it back in the tank and started it up..Yeah! Hope this helps someone sometime.
