service and engine light on 200 1990

I had the same thing happen to me at 105k in Chicago, during January (temp +5 degrees) last year. I was driving on the toll road 294 at night when the lights came on, no damage to my engine.
My local foreign car repair shop replaced the O2 sensor and all was well again.
Cost: $140 parts and labor.
I don't know if that was the correct fix, but it has worked for 12 months.

Good luck.
