List don't fail me now! 760 ECC Question 700

Hi to all,

I need some wizened one to tell me if the coolant temp sensor that's supposed to be on a heater line on my '89 760 is perhaps inside the dash? I can't find any sensor on the lines outside the firewall, and this is most likely the reason my fan won't come on for the first 15 minutes or so.

Also, has anybody removed the black plastic trim surround to the right of the steering wheel? I can get it almost all of the way off, but there is a clip in the center, between the switches and the vent controls, that doesn't want to go peacefully. I'm real worried I'll snap the piece if I don't figure out HOW it's suppose to release before I pull harder.

Your help is most appreciated!!

someguyfromMaryland, thankful that at least the seat heater still works!!
