Alternator problems 200

Hey guys. This past week I found that the alternator in my 240 was bad (after load testing the battery and doing some voltage tests). I found I was losing close to around a volt, I think, when my car was running and I had my lights and stereo on. I looked at my records for the car and found the voltage regulator was replaced a year ago, but the alternator as a whole was replaced 5 years ago, or around 100K miles ago. First, does 100K miles seem reasonable for an alternator to last? Second, if I wanted to step up to a bigger alternator due to the fact my stereo is drawing so much, what are the options I have (the stock 240 alternator is what, 55, 70 amps?)? Thanks.
