COLD START PROBLEMS!! 700

Hello Folks,

I have been having a problem with my 89 744GL (B230f Engine/LH2.4) when starting it in cold weather (-20deg C) after sitting over night w/o being plugged in. It will start but it runs like crap (BLub-blub-blub sound and the car shakes). The idles jumps up and down around ~1100rpm (on the crude dash tach) and runs like this for about one minute before settling down. In my case the car does not stall (like the symptoms listed in the FAQ).

If I step on the gas during the 1st 30 sec., there is no increase in RPM, it only sounds like the car is about to flood & the check engine light flashes. By stepping on the gas after 30 sec. the car will rev up and then settle down and run smoother.

However, when the car is warmed up it starts very smoothly and runs like a top.

I have changed the fuel filter, air filter, dist., cap, o2 sensor & AMM. I was wondering what else would cause these problems...IAC VALVE?? POOR Temp sensor?? Poor Vacuum??

Thanks in advance for your help,

Tim
