My M41 is also a bit wonky when trying to go into Low from 2nd .... no grinds or anything ... just seems like the cogs aren't lining up ... after a couple of stabs it usually goes in .... annoying but not all that worrisome .... I am old enough to remember when ALL cars had non syncro Low gears .... and also when ALL cars came with "Standard Manual transmissions" ;-)
