Turbo from different car: will it fit? 700 1989

The exhaust housing will not fit without modification due to the design of the Volvo manifold. You can machine both surfaces flat, however. The inside parts can be changed. It is not a two hour job to remove a turbo, dismantle it, take apart another turbo, swap the guts, etc. But it can be done if you are determined and have some mechanical skills. You would probably want a rebuild kit, or at least a seal kit. There could be a few other problems, depending on how you go about the job. You might be eliminating your integral CBV, for example. If you use the DSM center section, your Volvo banjo bolts and hard lines may or may not fit; check these.
