Car makes vibrating noise at high speed 200 1980

New problem in my '80 245 DL!

This time it's not electrical. My car makes this very loud vibrating noise when I'm going about 45+ mph. Switching the OD on has no effect. Downshifting to 4th has no effect either. The noise goes away when I let off the accelerator. At first I thought it was the tailgate making noise, but this was not the case. (I tightened everything down, no effect, plus it only happens when I accelerate). My next guess would be the bushings.

Could someone explain the function of the bushings a bit? I don't know much about their function. (I'm only skilled slightly, but there's nothing I can't handle on this car once I understand it.)

Any other ideas?
