in-tank pre-pump mounting? 200 1989

I recently received a collection of parts to re-new the in-tank assembly in my '89 240 DL sedan. With respect to a few diagrams from a repair manual, I notice the pre-pump is typically attached (mounted) to the bottom of the sending unit with a bracket and a screw (also to connect the ground to the pump motor). I am missing this bracket, it didn't come with either the pre-pump I bought (scan-tech - FCP Groton) or the sending unit (FCP Groton).

Can I assume that the fuel hose that connects the pre-pump to the sending unit fuel line is not adequate to hold the pump in place? Should I expect to be able to re-use the mounting hardware from my original old assembly after I remove it from the car? Does this mount do the jo of correctly positioning the height of the pre-pump within the tank?

Awaiting your advice,
Thanks in advance.
