Hood Release - Different for Airbag? 200 1993

I need a new hood release. Nick at fcpgroton asked me if it had an airbag because the price would be $47 vs $30 for non-airbag equipped. Even at fcpgroton prices (great source!) this is outrageous. Must be gold plated.

Anyway, why would a hood release be different for SRS, vs non-SRS. I was going to go to the yard to salvage an old one, but now I have to wonder if it would be OK.
