Darned waterpump leaking again 900 1993

After owning volvos for my entire auto-owning life I have replaced my share of waterpumps. I bought a 93 940 last year and this winter the water pump started leaking so I replaced it. Using my usual methods of prying the waterpump up, it still leaked. So I bought a new gasket set, now I replaced those two weeks ago, and today the paper gasket started leaking. Am I missing something? Does anyone use any type of sealant along with the paper gasket? I didn't this time, applied it dry and it was leak free for two weeks. I suppose it could be the highs of 6def f we have been having for the past week that is making it leak? maybe I should re-torque the pump bolts.
