82 fuel pump fuse #7 200

My fuel pump fuse went on me again yesterday. I replaced it and the car ran again but I am wondering if I have some kind of a problem. I replaced the fuel pump and various other parts a couple of years ago now after a number of shutdowns, some of which resulted in tow bills.

I can hear the fuel pump running when I first start up the car and I wondered how "normal" this is. Can the rest of you hear your main fuel pump in action. It's not particularly noisy or noticeable, but I certainly know when it's not operating.

This is on a B23 GLT.
