I just replaced the front & rear brake pads on my 93' 960 and I must say, it's the easiest brake pad replacement job I've ever done. I must commend Volvo for the ease in replacing them. It only took 18 minutes per wheel.

I removed a bit of the brake fluid from the reservoir to prevent overflow while depressing the piston into the caliper.

I bought some Dura brand from a local foriegn auto parts store and later found out (after removal of wheel) that they were the wrong type! :( I decided to pay a visit to the Volvo parts department for an OEM and am glad I did. I have the Girling type calipers.

Just thought I'd post this message if anyone was considering taking your 960 to a shop for this job... DON'T!!! If you have an IQ over 60 and can see, then you CAN do it yourself! :)
