850 V70 series Stereo fit in 740? 700 1988

Just curious. Realizing the 850 series stereos are double height, if I remove the 740's OEM stereo and cigarette lighter/tray will the dual height unit fit? Brackets could be made if the hole will accomodate.

Reason? I much prefer the layout and larger buttons on my 850's stereo over anything available nowadays. Too many tiny multifunction buttons on a faceplate get to be pretty aggravating.

Anyone try this?
