What Type of Maintenance Will Keep A Brick on the Road for Years Without Leaving You Stranded.... 200 1986

Sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm just amazed at the knowledge this board has regarding Volvos. Maybe I am a rooky regarding Volvos, but at least I am well educated when I go to my mechanic. Can someone tell me what type of maintenance it takes to keep a volvo dependable for many years. Also, eventially I would like to get larger tires. Does anyone know what size I would need.
