Update on no start problem with bad news 700


Your car will run OK on main fuel pump alone.
In fact, even if the in-tank pump was dead, you
would most likely notice any anomaly only at
higher speeds, as the engine would be starved
for fuel. There could be some kind of mechanical
obstruction in the line from the tank to the main
pump. Perhaps the old sock filter disintegrated
and got sucked into the line, and is now blocking
the fuel.
