ECU and Intermittent problems? 200

I have a 90 240 DL wagon with a 561 ECU, and intermittent stalling problems.

I have changed many parts, fuel pumps, relay, plugs, fuel filter,wires...

My question is that the infamous 561, can it cause intermittent problems? Has anyone fixed an intermittent problem with a ECU swap? According the FAQ page, ECU usually do not fail intermittently: either they work or don't.

I think I am suffering from a intermittent loss of fuel pressure: motor skips a beat, bucks and wants to stall randomly, and problem goes away with a restart, only to return days later.
