Tempsensor position on a B230ET? 700 1985

The ECT (Engine Coolant Sensor) is under intake port three, and gives temporature information to the ECU for controlling the fuel injection. It has nothing to do with the temperature the engine runs at. The thermostat controls engine operating temperature, and the instrument temperature sensor under intake port two controls the gauge in the instrument panel.

If the temperature gauge indicates cold running, replace the thermostat first.
