Another Turbo related ?...small hose connections at intake. 700 1989

I was looking at the vacuum diagram on the strut tower and it appears that my turbo connections may have been reversed. The small vacuum hose from the turbo itself was connected to the top most nipple on the intake man. The hose to the gauge was on the bottom most.

My diagram says it should be the other way around. At least that's how I am interpreting it. I did make the switch and haven't noticed anything...not that I had the opportunity to go on a good test ride. The one thing I did notice was that the gauge doesn't sit in the 12 o'clock position anymore (with engine off). It's slightly off to the right...more like 12:30...almost one.

How should the hoses be?
Thanks!
