Clutch cable replacement 140-160 1972

I plan to replace the clutch cable soon, just for safety reasons. It doesnt look bad but I have no idea how old it might be.

The Volvo "green book" makes it sound simple and straightforward yet, when I examined the job, I couldnt figure out how to go about it as a one person job. For example, I cant figure out how to get a wrench on the threaded shaft with the two larger bolts. All suggestions, procedure description, hints etc cheerfully accepted. Thanks
