940 instrument cluster removal 900 1991

Hi all,

I have been attempting to remove the instrument cluster on my 91 940 GL Sedan.
Unfortunately I have had no luck. I can't get the plastic surround off. I have pushed small screwdrivers into the slots as instructed in the FAQ and have applied as much force as I dare but it won't budge. Is there a special knack to getting the plastic surround off? Any advice anyone could offer would be very much appreciated.
