S 40: Any good??

My dealer mostly has SV40s as service loaners these days. I had a brand-new black V40 last Friday. It was OK, it felt-looked-drove-smelled like a Volvo.

They're built in Holland on the same assembly line as a ghastly car called the Mitsubishi Carisma.

It's the 4 cyl. version of the 4-5-6 cylinders that Volvo uses on just about everything.

The lack of posts might be because people don't have much trouble with them, or because it's unavailable with a stick in the US, so it generates less enthusiasm than the 5-speeds. I wouldn't go out and buy one, but that's just because I like to shift for myself
