Wierd scraping or fast tapping noise 700 1989

740GL - 1989 automatic (B230F). For the last month every morning when I first start the car and go out of the driveway, there is this scraping/fast tapping noise lasting for about 1-2 sec. It seems to come from the passenger side of the engine (or perhaps the gearbox?) right after the car starts moving. I can't feel any vibrations through the floor or the firewall and the car runs nicely.

Yesterday I revved the engine to 3000rpm several times in park (had to test the O2 sensor) and heard the noise again only the first time. The engine oil is 6 months old Mobil 1, the tranny oil is the standard stuff - last partial change 6 months ago. It runs and shifts nicely.

What could that be? What do I need to check (or get checked)?
