Instrument cluster connections 200 1987

Broad subject, but I need information on the connections. More specifically the tachometer. There is a 3 prong(male)connector at the top and a 2 prong (male)connector at the bottom. The cable that fits the 3 prong comes from the clock. I can only find 1 wire (orange) that fits either side of the 2 prong.

The wiring diagram in the Haynes 240 series gives the basic picture and leaves a lot to be desired.

Any help would be very helpful.
